Pipedrive Review – CRM That Helps You Grow Your Revenue
Generating sales is one of the most important parts of each company, but doing this can sometimes be a real hassle. Especially if you’re trying to do it with a spreadsheet or a pen and paper. Thankfully there are some great CRMs out there and one of them is called Pipedrive. In this review, we will be looking into Pipedrive and how their CRM “…designed by salespeople, for salespeople” can help you grow your revenue through a simplified, yet robust system.

Why do you need a CRM?

Before going into more detail on what Pipedrive is and how it works, let’s talk a bit about why you actually need a CRM (if that wasn’t clear to you already).
Why do you need a CRM:
- It gives you an organized solution to import and condense all your customer data into one centralized location. This means you will find all your data regarding that specific customer from one place. Including phone calls, emails, notes, and even past deals.
- If the CRM is as well made as Pipedrive, you will have all data available on one platform that allows you to read it and it will in most cases help you interpret it.
- Another thing CRM can help you with is lead collection. For example Pipedrive offers an automated chat that can collect leads directly to your Pipedrive account, meaning you will have a healthy amount of warm leads always readily available for you or your sales team.
- A great CRM will also help you with your customer support since you can save notes regarding customers’ pain points directly to the CRM and your sales can grab those pain points and turn them into solutions and more sales.
- The right kind of CRM will also help you with marketing. Categorizing customers for your marketing needs is important so you can deliver the right kind of content to the right group.
What is Pipedrive?
Pipedrive is a CRM that is heavily focused on helping you focus on the right things at the right time. On top of helping you visualize and simplify your dashboard, Pipedrive helps you generate more leads and automate systems, but more on that later on.
Pipedrive dashboard
Using Pipedrive is a breeze. After creating your account and getting started you will be met with a clean dashboard. Thanks to the clean kanban design you can start adding new leads instantly to the right areas.

Something a lot of people might not be able to appreciate at first is the actual drag and drop features. Thanks to it, it’s easy to move prospects from column A to B to C.

The clean interface of the dashboard also makes it easy for any member of your team to track the amount of $/€/£ they have in their pipeline and how much they can expect to generate revenue if they manage to land those sales.
Managing deals

Managing deals is simple in Pipedrive. Simply add a note, activity, call, or even email. Each of these can be done directly from the deal itself meaning you don’t even need to pick up your phone if you want to make a phone call or change to your email if you want to send an email and save it to the deals notes.

Another great thing is that you can easily add reminders to yourself or a team member directly to the deal, meaning Pipedrive will remind you to make that phone call or send an email or whatever it might be that you set it to remind you.
Pipedrive email connection

A great feature in Pipedrive is that you can actually connect your email directly to Pipedrive. This means you can send emails directly from Pipedrive to your potential leads or customers. The emails also get saved to the notes of the deal meaning you will always find what you have talked with the person directly from Pipedrive. This means less hopping between browser tabs.
Email automation
Pipedrive also helps you automate your email marketing by letting you create templates you can send to multiple customers at the same time. This is a great way to send introductory emails to cold leads to make them warmer even before calling them.
Pipedrive products

A great feature Pipedrive also has is the ability to add Products. Simply add a product to the CRM and you can easily add it later on to a deal. Really helpful when you want to unify your deals.

Please note that products are only available in advance, professional and enterprise plans.
Product custom fields
What about custom fields? Well thankfully Pipedrive has also thought of that and you can add as many custom fields you want to keep track of them. On top of that, you can also import products from a spreadsheet if you have a huge amount of products you want to keep taps on and want to add them to the leads more consistently.
One thing that is a bummer is though that you can’t import products directly to deals so you have to do this manually after importing them unless you are familiar with Pipedrive’s API and know how to utilize it.
Workflows and automation

Something some CRM’s don’t have but what Pipedrive has taken care of is workflow automation. You can easily create workflows that for example every time you create a new person a new deal is created. This can save up to 60 minutes for every 50 manual tasks you would normally make. Of course, there are a ton of other workflows and automation you can build easily so the only thing stopping you is pretty much your imagination.
Pipedrive integrations
As mentioned earlier Pipedrive offers quite a robust API that allows you to do much more than you might be able to do manually, which is kind of expected since you don’t want to give too much freedom to users or the UI might get too crowded and or hard to use.
The most common integrations you can see used with Pipedrive are
- Mailchimp
- Microsoft Teams
- Slack
- Asana
- Quickbooks / Xero
- Zapier
Though if you didn’t find what you need from the list above you can always find more in Pipedrive’s marketplace.
Pipedrive and custom data
Something CRM’s often forgotten is that customer data often varies depending on the company that collects it. Thankfully Pipedrive offers a way to customize the data you might want to input for each person or company.
Adding new custom fields is fairly simple through the Settings area where you can create a custom field of your need. Custom fields can also be set as “Required” or “Important” meaning if the field is “Required“, users are forced to add details to the custom field or if it’s marked as “Important” Pipedrive simply reminds you to fill it up each time you create a person or a company.
Pipedrive pricing
At the moment Pipedrive offers four different pricing tiers:
- Essential – 18.00 $ / month, per user
- Advanced – 33.00 $ / month, per user
- Professional – 59.00 $ / month, per user
- Enterprice – 119.00 $ / month, per user
Something to note is that the pricing is per user, so even though Pipedrives pricing is fair, it can get expensive for larger teams. If you want to save up, don’t forget to grab the annual deal that can save you up to 31%.
